Unhappy Bounce recording "pops" at head

I posted this on the Post-Production group, but have not received any responses. I have discovered that the first 3 samples of anything that is bounced or recorded in Pro Tools is written with nothing but zeros. Normally that might not be a problem, except if you sound starts exactly at the head of the file, like if you are trying to make a looped music file. This results in an audible Pop sound. Try it yourself, and see if I'm right. Make a nice seamless loop in pro tools of some steady sound, like a string pad or synth pad. Then bounce it and play it back in something that loops, and you will here the pop or tick.

Is this really the best Pro Tools can do?

You should always leave a little space at the top and tail.

I've had this problem while leaving space and it's always been connected to a plugin and the solution has been to automate the bypass or mute the track.

In my +10 years of using PT I have never ever faced your trouble, so I would assume the trouble lies in some plugin that doesn't behave well enough.

yeah what he said

you may need to reinstantiate your plugs

include anything on master fader

quick way is to click on each plug insert with control and command keyed

uninstantiate....then click a second time to reinstantiate

Thanks for your suggestions. In order to take the plug ins out of the equation, I made the bounces on a session with no plugins at all on my Pro HD6 rig. The same thing was done at a facility in California on a Pro Tools running in Native mode, with the same results. For now, I open the bounced loops in Snapper, and delete the first few samples of the file with the "pop", then re-save it. This is getting me by for now, but I really should be able to bounce out a clean loop from Pro Tools.
