Default 003 Macintosh Audio

I just hooked up my brand new 003 and it's daisy chained through an external hard drive. I want to switch the audio driver in the Apple System Preferences but it's not seeing the 003. Anyone know a way around this?

I'm getting ITunes playing through the 003, but not system beeps, and not when Pro Tools is running. The Digi Core Audio driver runs when this runs. The Audio Midi Stup utility is used to configure it. Unfortunately S/PDIF mirroring STILL doesn't work as of 7.3.1cs3.

I don't have any other Firewire devices than the 003 hooked up. I might not daisy chain it...do you have two firewire ports on your machine?

Most likely you need to install the Core Audio driver.

If Pro Tools is running, it has exclusive use of the hardware - thus iTunes nor any other application will be able to use it.

System sounds cannot be routed through a Core Audio device - this is a limitation of the OS.

As for SPDIF mirroring - are you trying to use this in Pro Tools or the Core Audio driver?

Via Core Audio. This is one of your known issues that your elves should be whittling away on.

Interestingly, I have no problem getting the system sounds to go through an MBox2 Pro, yet if I have any of the other LE interfaces attached (Mbox/Mbox2/002/003) the option is grayed out.

Conversely, all LE interfaces seem to show up in the Digi CoreAudio Manager *except* the MBox2 Pro. Any hypotheses on why the MBox2 Pro seems to be such an enigma in this regard?

Curious,
Jeff
