Default PT6 and system sound output

I blew away my OS9.1 system drive and upgraded my 400Mhz G4 to OSX 10.2.4 and installed PT6LE. So far, PT6 seems to work fine but slow.

But my Mac no longer seems to recognize the 001 box as a sound output device so I can't run sound from other apps through it. When I go to Sound in System Preferences, the 001 box is not there.

I'm not sure if this is due to a lack of understanding of OSX or PT6 and I can't find anything in the PT6 reference manual on the topic.

Anybody know how to correct this and get my sound back?

I've noticed that when I open Apples Audio and Midi utility (AMS) , the mBox is not a choice for system sound. It could be that the mbox driver is only loaded when Protools is launched, and is not capable of being used by other applications. Not yet, anyway. Just a hunch, correct me if I'm wrong.

I think PT 6.0 is supposed to be ran on OS X 10.2.3.

Digi has said that they will be releasing the core audio drivers, which are needed to hear your system sounds through your interface, at the end of Q1 this year (end of March)

It has nothing to do with OS 10.2.3 or 10.2.4

Joe,

Thanks for the info. It never occured to me that they would release it without the core drivers.
