True, Sherlock still finds your stuff. It's wise to turn off any applications that have any automatic, scheduled functions - you don't want retrospect to start backing up your audio drive when you're recording... Screensavers, scheduled sleep, antivirus, indexing etc. Do them manually when you need/feel bored/paranoid about viruses.

Produceher, I've heard of several people who use similar solutions to avoid RSI. A good idea would maybe be to have a few different choices between which you can swap. Though that can be a drag as well...

Produceher's original solution sucks in one sense: When recording, you only record only the first 50ms and then it's just post- roll. It doesn't allow you to quickpunch during the post- roll... Annoying.

You have to check when recording if your cursor is blinking to know that you are able to do the punch!

BTW, everybody please keep the "playback when assigning inserts" thread going.

Yeah It only works best during mixdown. I think its a really good idea, I'll do that from now on.
