I can honestly say I wasn't expecting this. At least, not so soon after Chambers

I wonder how this would play with the J37? Someone over on GS mentioned using that combo. Would be interested to know what would be the suggested routing - J37 into the TG or TG into the J37?

I am seriously interested in this as I have most everything in the Abbey Roads collection save for King's Microphones and Vinyl. I suppose this was inevitable as people probably have been asking about just getting the transfer desk from Vinyl.

You know I was thinking the same thing, and Vinyl too. I guess its a natural progression of thought to want to try these things together. It might sound a bit "too vintage" for some applications, but, hey, it doesn't hurt to give it a try.

It is kind of interesting. Tape EQ is a filter designed to counter the frequency changes introduced to the original signal when it is transferred through a tape machine to the Mastering Chain, it can be seen as the opposite which is as interesting as adding tape alone to get a different tonal response. The combination should add saturation with less coloration I think.

Its a really interesting concept. I don't think it would have been an "ideal" solution, but it certainly would have had some impact. Otherwise it wouldn't have been part of the mastering setup.

Yeah, I didn't even argue, just went and bought it those bastards. I tried to watch the video in the link in the email right at the time YT went down but gave up and just downloaded it. Havent tried it yet and I also have everything but Vinyl and Kings mic so we'll see.

They took my money (again) already...

First impressions - sounds sweet, & although no substitute for the real thing, will still be infinitely usable.

Only gripes... wish the GUI was bigger, (& AU performance sucks)!

Was lucky to be able to watch the video before YT went down (BTW - what time did you lose YT? For me it was around 9PM US eastern. If you do get to watch it make sure you're listening on a good set of speakers. Sounded pretty good on the Yamaha MSP5's I gave my wife for her Mac Mini and even better on the LSR308's in the studio. Love that it can get loud without sounding like Death Magnetic. I'm going to have to take the sessions I did for a cover of DSOTM and see how they sound through this beastie.

I watched the vids as YT came up while I was downloading to my second laptop(I never listen to ANYTHING on laptop speakers FWIW, I don't even know if they work) I think it was somewhere between 9-10 CST when I noted YT down then back up. The notice that I got seemed so non professional that at first I thought maybe laptop had a virus. When I checked on laptop 2 approx. 1/2 hour later YT came up after I had already started the download so I rechecked lappie 1 and it was up there also. There was a bunch of stories about it (YT DOS) on Yahoo this a.m.
