Default Waves G or E SSL channel

Hi guys

I’ve never used a real SSL so wouldn’t know the difference from that way, but what are the differences between the 2. I automatically always just reach for the E Channel when mixing, but just wondered if I’m missing anything nice from the G Channel

Thanks for the link. While trying to compare/contrast the two during the Plugin Alliance various sales it got to be difficult getting the info on both in one place. This page does just that.

That link is an interesting read. To think that only 2 of the first SSL consoles were sold, and still the company survived is interesting. They must have been quite expensive back in 1975.

I was wondering the same a few months ago, after reading the article I was ready to buy the G channel but after this audio comparison I ended up buying the E Channel

My pleasure. As mentioned, I don't use these now, but I used the E-Channel in the TDM world. An interesting read nonetheless, me thinks.
