Default Crashing when closing a session

(almost) everytime I close down a session (PT TDM 5.01) the computer crashes. I have expirienced this with two systems ( G4, mix+++ and G3 beige with pt24 ).

What is the reason ?

Are you using SCA 80 pin drives that have been adapted to 68 pin scsi bus? That caused your problem for me...once I scrapped the 80 pin drives and got 68 pin drives the problem went away...

No, unfortuneatly not. They are all 68 pin drives.

The crash accur -I think - when the DSP farms are being "cleaned out" .

Anyone else expiriencing these things??

-What SCSI accelerator are you using?
-What disk utility did you use to initialize your SCSI drives?

I have seen this type of behavior be the result of a couple of things:

-Corrupted preference file. Trash the DigiSetup File, Pro Tools preference, and DAE prefs (the entire folder) from the System Folder>Preferences folder. Empty the Trash and restart the Mac. When you go back into Pro Tools, do so from the Pro Tools Application Icon and not by double clicking on a session.

-Using a format utility other than Apple Drive Setup to initialize the ATA system drive.

-Virus. Run Virex or any similar application and have it repair any and all corrupted files

-corrupted catalog or BTree directory on one (or more) of your drives. Run Disk Warrior or something similar to check the integrity of your drives
