Default MOTU PCI 424 max inputs Pro Tools 9??

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone here know how many simultaneous inputs I can have in Pro Tools 9 and a MOTU 424 with two 24 IO rack interfaces. Basically my setup is as follows.

Analog Soundcraft k2 with insert cables out
to 2 MOTU 24 IO's
Out to the MOTU 424 PCIe card

I was wondering if this would support 48 simultaneous inputs. I have taken both 101 and 110 certificates so I know from the course that it supports 32 in. My question basically is that since the 424 card handles the I/O and the CPU doesn't, can Pro Tools support more ins? I understand that I might have to get the Music Production Toolkit 2 to make this happen.

Any info would be great. I really want to move away from Cubase now that Pro Tools can work with ASIO drivers without .

Thank you in advance.

No, 32 simultaneous I/O really is the maximum. It's a limitation given by Avid, not the technology.

I am on the same set up but with three MOTUS...
I want to use the analog bank on the 2nd interface, bank C.

This makes my physical ins/outs start at 41 and finish at 48. Please tell me I can still use them! They are dead in pro tools, but work fine in Cubase. The I/o window, the total I/o is 32. I have about 16 ADAT inputs, and then three stereo inputs for my returns. On my output, I have a stereo out and then 3 stereo sends for the outboard gear.
This adds up to 30 right?! So it should work!?!??! I'm really hoping so at least. Anyone care to shed some light ?
