Core audio - sound stuck in endless loop
OSX10.6.4, PT8, Mbox 2
In System Preferences I set the sound output device to be the digi core audio device (ie: for all normal system audio, not just PT). It works fine for a while, but then it will suddenly lock up and whatever sound it was playing will keep looping over and over (it's about a one-second repeat cycle). The only way to stop it is to unplug the Mbox from USB entirely. Any suggestions why it's locking up like this? Thanks, Lindsay

Re: Core audio - sound stuck in endless loop
No tellin' - Digi Core Audio driver's have had issues before - what pops out at me is that 10.6.4 is not yet qualified - might have something do do with it.

Re: Core audio - sound stuck in endless loop
A less drastic solution that works for me - actually, I don't get this problem since the 8.0.4 upgrade - is to open Audio MIDI Setup (while PTLE is still running) and from the Clock source drop-down menu, select S/PDIF. Usually the audio immediately begins to play normally. After a few seconds, I toggle back to Internal and that does it. This periodic hiccup used to occur so often, that I kept my Audio MIDI Setup utility in the dock. As I said, this doesn't happen since I upgraded from 8.0.3. to 8.0.4. Hope this helps.

Re: Core audio - sound stuck in endless loop
Just following up -- since installing the 8.0.4 update I've had no more problems :)
Thanks, Lindsay
