Default Itunes Playback through 002 ISSUE

Hey everyone,

on to the next fiasco! haha

trying to figure out why my itunes playback is really choppy and garbled up. I read and searched around about changing the buffer setting in quicktime, but i actually dont see any buffer setting in quicktime preferences or etc...Itunes will burn cd's fine and seems to run fine, its just the audio playback that is awful.

If i go over to windows media player the files play just fine.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

windows xp sp3 , digi002 with latest drivers, protools 8.01
itunes version 8.0.2.20
Quicktime version - 7.6.5

This is what's been called a "Known issue" for YEARS, but there's no "known FIX" for it. The majority of us use our on-board sound cards for all the non-Pro Tools stuff.

I leave mine on my office PC/Mbox rig enabled all the time. No problems at all.

FWIW, I have used the onboard audio on 5 Pro Tools systems without issue. I fed the mini plug output to the Alt inputs of the 002, then the same on the 003 and now run optical SPDIF from the mobo, directly to a digital input of a Presonus Central Station(absolutely the best option if you got the coin).
