Default S6 not for ProTools 10???

It states PT11 as supported, nothing about PT10. Can not go PT11 because of the lack of dsp plug-ins (soundtoys, massey e.t.c)

Pro Tools 10 had many issues with the latest version 1.2 and therefore is not supported. Although it worked in the general sense, it had many issues like pan ball not being displayed, no waveform displayed on the CDM's and more...

So I guess the question is: will the next release support PT10?

Hi guys,

There is no plan to do the large amount of work to support PT10HD with the new S6 features because it would have greatly delayed this (1.2) release and that large amount of work would take away from new feature development planned for the future.

Most S6 customers have not had a problem with this approach and are fine with moving forward with PT11 for all the gain in workflow features they get like: better metering, better engine performance, multiple stem offline bounce, etc.

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom.
I really think post houses are going to stick with PT 10 for a long time. I don't see anybody working in PT11 and I move from studio to studio all the time.

What LA post houses are working on PT11?

Hi Brandon,

Editorial suites can stay on PT10 as long as they need but the stages where the mixing happens (with an S6) would need to be PT11. The sessions are compatible.

Thanks,
Tom

FYI avid is going to have to wait a while for this to happen and to sell s6.

Brilliant!

Hey Tom, Brandon says LA doesn't need S6. Can you please re-direct their shipments to London so that we can clear our backlog of orders?

Cheers!

That is exactly NOT what I said. I said LA isn't moving to PT11 anytime soon. Most places I work in still have TDM. I personally have a mobile HD native rig I bring with me but I still run PT 10 on it. Just too many reasons not to move to PT 11 at the moment.

There's plenty of studios that have already switched to HDX and 11 in La and it's surroundings or are in the process of switching to HDX and PT 11.
