Default Strike Question

I can't seem to get my head around this? I have a General Midi drum track and I want it to trigger the appropriate elements in a Strike kit. I've created a stereo Instrument track and put Strike on it, then loaded a kit? Then I assigned the Midi Drum Track's output to a Strike Midi Channel. I thought I read somewhere that for GM you need to assign to Strike CH2 but it doesn't seem to work. None of the Midi channel assignments from the Midi Drum Track seem to trigger the appropriate samples on the Strike Drum Kits? I must be missing the boat on this? Are the strike samples mapped as per GM? If not, what is the workaround. Any help?

Any particular reason you're not just programming the midi on the instrument track?

No particular reason ... I just have a GM file playing though a GM module and I wanted use Strike to play the Midi Drum Track instead of using the module. I am sure I have done this before but for some reason I can't seem to get it working now. So in essence I want to use Strike as a GM sample player triggered by a pre-programmed GM midi drum tk.

There are several Strike training sessions on the AIR User Blog, just head over and type Strike into search or use the keyword option, that should sort you out.

Thanks Russ ..... turns out I was doing it right .... Midi GM Drum Track output assigned to Strike CH2 does play mostly accurately .. some adjustments need to be made in some cases but easy to do.

If you have access to that GM Drum file in Multi-Track form, you could assign the corresponding track MIDI Output to the correct Strike Instrument Channel.
