SSC and Direct connect weirdness

Hi all,

PT 5.11 SSC , G4 ..
I have SSC running , Stereo Aux input in PT , with direct connect assigned to outputs 1+2

No sound from Pt only while PT is the active window.
If I make SSC the active window , Direct connect bursts into life and SSC is routed thru PT..

Why would this be?

I have tried the "select any input rather than no input " on aux channel , no difference.

So basically the only way I can use Direct connect and SSC is to make SSC the active window (PT in background)

any thoughts... driving me nuts !

LOL ..found the answer to my own question ..
It was a SSC pref...pass midi thru when SSC is in background...

ahh well
