ProTools HD v8 won't open?

Sorry if this has already been addressed but for some reason my ProTools HD V8 won't open. (it was working). It just sits in the dock and the little white dot to the left blinks and it doesn't launch. Is this one of those "pre binding" things? I am just about to do all the pref's trashing but was wondering if this has come up before?

In my experience that's a typical symptom of the pre-binding issue.

I might be wrong but i think prebinding was more specific to Tiger!

Try trash prefs and see if that works? don't forget you can use this app to save/back-up and revert to your prefs...

If not..

I would simply re-install pro tools. this effectively does the same thing but also replaces the pro tools files incase of corruption. use the uninstaller in the applications/digidesign/pro tools folder. re-boot re-install pt and see how it goes.

other things to try! remove all non pt8 included digi plugs from the plugins folder system drive/library/app support/digidesign/plugins and try booting with just digi plugs.

Run Digi test to check cards!
