Gtr Modeler recommendations
Wondering what is considered the most popular of the Gtr Modeler plugs (Sans Amp, Amp Farm, Eleven, Amplitube) etc., to name a few?

Re: Gtr Modeler recommendations
I've been using amp farm for as long as I can remember. Amplitube is okay too, but I like Amp farm better myself.

Re: Gtr Modeler recommendations
I'm running PT 5.1.3, so whatever the last version available for OS9 was - I can't remember off the top of my head.

Re: Gtr Modeler recommendations
I have to chime in for Eleven. Eleven TDM is the best, IMHO.
Eleven RTAS is great too, but needs a lot of CPU. It doesn't have the best clean sounds, IE for Steel or jazz guitar. However, plugging through my VTB-1 tube pre (Studio Projects) into Eleven TDM is unreal--hearing the studio monitors sound just like my Marshall cab, including the ability to get realistic low end 'Hendrix-esque' feedback is 'jaw dropping' to me. I own Amplitube & Amp Farm also. They all have their uses, but for slightly dirty to metal sounds, Eleven is phenomenal. Can't speak for Waves, however, haven't used it. The NAMM video they had up didn't impress me a bit though. I also understand that the Line 6 gearbox plug is very similar to Amp Farm. Perhaps someone who has that plug & amp farm could chime in here? Download the Eleven TDM demo & try it.

Re: Gtr Modeler recommendations
Another Vote for Eleven. I haven't touched my Guitar Rig 2 since owning Eleven. I also replaced Amp Farm 3, which would currently be my second favorite.
Elevn, for me, sets the bar in realism and sound quality for amp sims. Anyone can add FX's later, so it doesn't matter much to me that other plugs like Guitar Rig have more 'stuff' in them if their sound quality suffers. You can split the cab and amps up in Eleven too, which is pretty cool. |

Re: Gtr Modeler recommendations
Don't forget NI Guitar Rig, which I think is excellent, especially the new version.
You asked for what was the most popular modeler. Certainly Amp Farm has been around the longest, and it might be the standard (if there is one). I personally never liked it all that much though.

Re: Gtr Modeler recommendations
I'm using GR 2, but would like to hear Eleven. The website demos were OK, but I'd like to hear for myself. Is there a demo you
can download? Seems like Amplitube, GR, Amp Farm all have some plusses, but still sound pretty processed IMHO. Maybe Eleven is different?
