Default pro tools free freezes after lowering buffer size

Please help me!

I can´t start pt free. I tried to low the buffer size to 128 samples to reduce delay. Then, I restarted PT and it freezed the PC every time.

I unistalled it, then I re-installed and it keeped in the same way.

Please excuse my grammar, I´m from Spain. Thank you in advance.

Default Re: pro tools free freezes after lowering buffer size

If the computer hungs before you hit 'play',then it could be several reasons.Search for 'audio optimization' and you'll probably come up with a stable system.
If it hungs as soon as you hit 'play' then it's the buffer size which is too small for your card to handle. You may try setting it at 1024 or 2048 if it's a decent soundcard (my Audiophile24/96 plays fine at 1024) or 8192 if it's in the Soundblaster league.
