the could take a few lessons from Git.

push / pull / merge request / rollbacks.

but just having multiple ptx files associated with a project that use the same pool of audio would work.. we version by saving as with a version number and description.
ie:
Artist-Song 1.0 Beds 1.0.ptx ->
Artist-Song 1.1 Drum Edits 1.0 -> Artist-Song 1.1 Drum Edits 1.2
Artist-Song 1.2 Bass Overdub 1.0 - Artist-Song 1.2 Bass Edits 1.0

Oh no, a drum edit was wrong.. reopen Artist-Song 1.1 Drum Edits 1.2 -> Artist-Song 1.2 Drum Edits 1.3
import changes into Artist-Song 1.3 Bass Edits 1.1

Not as elegant as Git is for Code.. but at least we have a version history and can track changes.

I work in the same way, but currently PT Collab lacks this functionality.

If it was added, I would probably use projects more than sessions simply for the piece of mind that I always have an offsite backup that is also backed up! Then I can copy my collab folder and be done with it. Very Media Composer file management system😀

Collaboration was the stupidest thing they've even embraced, trying to solve a problem that simply does not exist today, not even close......

I'm sure there individuals and companies that find it useful, but I suspect they are a small minority. It's useless to me.

Even if it was useful to some users the big problem with implementing this mess is it seems to have helped destabilize 12.5 for many users. And now who knows how long it is going to take to get a stable 12.x back. The product management stupidity at Avid is mind numbing.

i have! a whole album (12 songs) artist/producer collaboration. we we're pretty succesful, didn't have many problems and i could work on the train, in the park, wherever and next time i was in my studio i just opened the session and "tadaaa" everything already there! my issues/whishes:
- versions
- possibility to share link to session, to send to a mixer for example
- autosave restore not always working correctly
- sometimes when the collaborator opens a session for the first time, the track order is messed up
- artist chat pretty slow when typing
i never thought i's use it at first. now i think it's pretty great!
