cd architect 5.0
Have you heard? Sonic Foundry just released CD Architect 5.0!! $99 upgrade. Finally a proper red book program for Windows. I've been using Cakewalk's Pyro and occasionally I would fire up my old external SCSI burner and use the old CD Arc. Pyro is pretty cool (and cheaper), but there are things you can do in CD Arc that you can't in Pyro.

Re: cd architect 5.0
Are you referring to the newest version of Pyro, 2.0 I am interested in knowing what the main differences are if you could elaborate.
Thanks |

Does anyone know if CD Arch. is available for purchase yet (stand-alone, not upgrade)... I downloaded the beta and my licence just ran out. Thanks,

Re: cd architect 5.0
Oh, just read it all the way through.
It says because I am a customer(after all, I downloaded the CD-Arch. beta), I can get it for $149 until DEC 11th. Then the price will return to $300... hmmm..

Re: cd architect 5.0
The biggest difference between PYRO 2003 and CD Arch 5 is the non-destructive editing and real time effects chains available in CD Architect 5. I would consider these a must for modern software mastering. CD Arch 5 will also open 24bit files edit and burn 16bit CDs without changing the bit depth or the original file. Very cool.
Pyro looks cool if you just need a simple solution for CD burning, CDDB and mp3 support. Heck it'll even do data cds. But for Audio CD Mastering I'd say go with CD Arch 5. I did get the promo e-mail ... but I am a registered Sonic Foundry customer .?.? the 'slide

Re: cd architect 5.0
I'm guessing that you get the e-mail if you downloaded the CD Arch Beta trial program.
Which I did...
