Mac pro 2008 with pro tools hd3 accel- Help please.

I dont know if anyone has had this problem before but.......

Was using 1st gen mac pro 2007 running pro tools hd1 accel and aquired a mac pro 2008, 8 core to use with pro tools hd3, using pcie slots 2,3 and 4.

When i tried to plug in the core card in pcie slot number 2 there seems to be a smc chip in the way and although the core card slots in, you cannot lock it down. At the moment im running the 8 core model with pro tools hd2, using slots 3 and 4.

Have spoken with apple over the phone and taken the machine so they can see for themselves the problem. Apple say there is no problem with pcie slot 2 on this machine. Am i doing something wrong ?

I've had several of those 2008 3.1 Mac Pros with HD cards (1s and 3s) and not had any problem with blockage
