Default Creative Collection not installed

Just jumped up to 8.0 and came across this error while installing (all 3 times)

Protools Creative Collection error - 2147213312

None of the new instruments are available....and the original xPand is also gone along with the full version of Structure

Any ideas ??

sounds like a good time to restore your machine back to before you installed 8 and i would install 8 w/o the creative collection, get it running then install the creative collection seperatly.

Rolled back, re-installed, same problem(s).......

1. Elastic Audio will not install as of this message:

Pro Tools LE: ProToolsLE.exe-Entry point not found:
The procedure entry point ?Destroy@RadiusEngine@iZ Radius_v1Z@@SAXPAU12@@Z
could not be located in the dynamic link library iZotope_Radius_Win32.dll

2. ProTools Creative Collection error-2147213312

None of the new inst. were installed, and my full version of Structure disappeared.

3. Another error message appeared near the end of installation:

'This app has failed to start because HWC.dll was not found. Re-installing may fix this'

Not sure what that one's in regard to.

And of course the moogerfooger fiasco...not a big deal. Digi said they will be fixing that one.

Despite all the errors, I did get 8 installed, and all the plugs I thought I would have problems with are just fine...Waves, NI ..etc.

Just no new instruments, no Structure, no Elastic Audio.

I'm downloading it again to rule out a corrupted zip file , and if that doesn't work I'll wait till I can get the install DVD.

Oh well....back to 7.4 for now.......gotta' love Acronis

This error will occur if the installation files were not extracted properly. After downloading the PT8 software, use WinZip to extract the files (I've seen older versions of WinRAR cause issues). There should be subfolders for the Creative Collection (Boom, MiniGrand, etc...). Note: If there are no subfolders, these files did not extract correctly, and this error will occur.

Another tip: If the files DO extract properly, burn these files directly to a DVD and install from there. This will ensure that your PT8 Installer files remain intact and correctly stuctured.

Good luck!

Thanks Eric , I did use WinRar and only one subfolder showed up.
When I get home I'll download WinZip and try again.

Downloaded WinZip...it claims the pt8 download file is corrupt and it can't unzip it.

Am I missing something here...spent 10 hours downloading so far with 2 corrupt zip files..

Did you try the Windows Unzip application yet?

BTW, where are you in TGWN? If you're anywhere near Toronto I have the complete download of 8.0 (including MP3 Option, Loops, Melodyne Essential, BFD Lite, Torq LE and the v2Tech Utility [which is not performing properly, Delete Preferences works, Delete Digidatabases does not]) that you're welcome to take a copy of. I'm only offering this because I know you've already paid for it or you wouldn't have been able to download it.

Cheers,

Glad to help. At least now you you know what the problem is! I had to download a few files a couple of times to get a clean copy myself...

Good luck!
