Eric Clapton & tinnitus
Just found out this morning watching TV news that Eric Clapton is suffering with tinnitus. Doing a little sleuth work via Google it turns out it's not just tinnitus; he's also losing his hearing and has peripheral neuropathy which causes weakness in the hands and feet.
Here's but one of many articles on this that all say the same thing: https://www.billboard.com/articles/c...itus-diagnosis Upshot of this is: protect your hearing while you still have it. I deal with tinnitus every day; sometimes I get two or three frequencies happening at the same time. Can be painful as hell and there's no real cure. Oh sure there are therapies that can mask it to an extent but it never goes away. I have to wonder how many more guitarists deal with this that we don't know about? I know about Pete Townshend. |
