Advice on chain of hardware connectivity
Hi,
I'm planning to buy one of the new mid-2010 21.5" iMacs with a Core i5 processor upgrade (and upgrade of RAM to 8GB). I own an Mbox 2 Pro (2 FW 400 ports) and an external OWC Elite AL-Pro Mini HD (2 FW 800 ports). The iMac only has 1 FW 800 port. How should I connect the hardware together? I guess I really only have two options considering there's only one port on the iMac: 1) iMac > (thru FW800-400 adaptor) Mbox 2 Pro > (thru a FW 400-800 adaptor) External HDD. 2) iMac > External HDD > (thru FW 800-400 adaptor) Mbox 2 Pro. Basically I'm wondering if option 2 is actually feasible so I can just cut out one of the adaptors altogether. If not, will option 1 work fine? |

Re: Advice on chain of hardware connectivity
The best choice is going from the computer to the drive first, then on to the Mbox. OWC is now modding iMacs with eSATA and/or second internal drives. Something to think about
