Default CPU at 30% during playback, but fails during bounce.

Hey everyone, I hope you are all well.

I built a new machine recently, thanks to the advices given on this forum. It's a windows 10 machine with x99e, i76800k, 32g ddr4.

Anyhow, my sessions run nicely during record and playback. With a fully mixed session of maybe 40 tracks and 100 plugins, my cpu is at about 30% during playback (1024sample buffer 8gb ram cashed). This is great!

However, when I bounce to disk in real time, which I prefer usually, I almost 100% of the time get a DAE error suggesting I remove native plugins. This seems like a new issue for me and I'm unclear as to why this could be happening.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Neil

What's your buffer setting? If its low, push to 1024 and test. If its already up there, this is how I would approach troubleshooting. Start by making any VI plugins inactive. If that allows a real-time BTD, commit them. If that doesn't help, do you have Melodyne and/or Ozone in play? If Melodyne is used, commit those tracks.

My own X99 build was very similar and used an ASUS motherboard. I also had many issues and ended up swapping to a Gigabyte mobo and that helped. You might post details on the PC build(motherboard, graphics card, system drive). Assuming your sessions are on a separate hard drive?

If off-line bounce works, and nothing else helps, I would change your workflow so you listen thru all the way, and if you're happy, bounce off-line

Thanks for your reply. I'm already maxed on the playback buffer. No VIs at all in this session. Possibly melodyne. Absolutely Ozone. I've never had a problem. Even on my old i5 machine with 16gb of ram that was 5 years old. My sessions are on a dedicated seagate hard drove. Samsung SSD for C:.

I'm hoping this isn't the new normal. It just feels like going backwards...

Thanks again,

Neil
