Default Arturia V Collection 5.3 update

For those that don't know Arturia kicked loose with a free 5.3 update for the V Collection. Whole new Arturia Support Center for managing things that's supposed to make it easier to do updates - you only need to click one button to update everything.

Sounds cool right? Not for this initial update as you're essentially downloading the whole package and without a super high speed internet connection it takes forever. Either that or Arturia's serves are slower than molasses in December. Going alphabetically from the ASC (Arturia Support Center) that took about 15 minutes to do the download, the next took 45 minutes and so on. I have one that took over 4 hours - I think it was the miniMoog. If a download gets interrupted you're screwed as it doesn't keep track what was downloaded for a particular synth. You have to start over again with a fresh download. And near as I can figure that once installed (each module install when it finishes downloading) that download disappears off one's machine. So much for making backups. You can still download from your account though.

Time of day doesn't seem to matter either.

Default Re: Arturia V Collection 5.3 update

Update:
Tried again this morning about an hour before I'm typing this and it's a lot better. Had five more synths to download and update and they're all finished. And there's a checkbox in the prefs for ASC to delete (or not) the files after install.

Hopefully anyone going through this will have smooth sailing. Might have been because it was the first day but if you go to the downloads page on the Arturia site you'll see dates from in April when some of this stuff dropped. I regularly run ASC and it just picked up on them yesterday.

In this update, amongst other things, you now have just like in games, in-app purchases if you hear something you like and don't have. Not new synths but new soundbanks/preset collections.
