New Avid S3 constant failing faders. ASC throws Visualforce error

Eddie helped me troubleshoot my fader, and unfortunately it's an actual bad fader.

Nice to have someone @ Avid to connect with and help me through the possible causes...looking forward to the new Eucon!

Sooooo... I've updated to the latest greatest EUCON software and I updated the S3 firmware.

My original failing fader still works but I have a new fader that is no longer working. The difference being that EUcontrol no longer complains.

I may have an actual bad fader but then I seriously start doubting the quality of the faders. My S3 gets little mileage compared to others here.

Mind you that the motor does actually work (on calibration) on that fader but values do not change in Protools when I use it.

I might try the "swap faders and see what happens thing again."

Sounds like the touch signal isn't working on that fader

Well... the fader works again. But pleeze don't ask me why because I have not done anything. I guess it just decided vacation was over.

I'm having strange behavior of the S3 faders too.. Not sure if this is the same problem, but:

It seems I cannot use more then one fader at the time for writing automation. Everytime I grab an extra fader during write pass, the previous one stops writing.

Especially on VCA's this is apparent. Strange..

Pretty sure this is not the same, what auto mode are you in ?

Well, this makes sense.. because the faders on my newer Artist Mix are actually slower at changing positions when banking then my older one.. perhaps a different manufacturer... go figure... =)

Hi Eddie, I've tested this in all auto modes including trim. Running Eucon 3.7, PT 12.8.2.

Hi Eddie, here's a video that shows the "only 1 fader at the time" problem of mine..
