Pro Tools 11 not initiallising audio card

Help!
I'm setting up a new PC with Pro Tools 11.3 and Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 interface. I have what I think are the latest drivers from http://global.focusrite.com/download...Saffire+PRO+24. Saffire MixControl comes up OK and the input responds to the mic. Saffire also appears as selectable in the Pro Tools I/O (e.g. A1) but when I try to record I get a 'Pro Tools could not initialize the Saffire' message. I tried made sure the sample rates were the same prior to running Pro Tools but to no affect.
The original Texas 1394 (legacy) firewire driver is not available in windows 8.1 and I think this could be the cause of the problem.
Does anyone know where to find this legacy driver and how to instal it?

Your computer will not accept a PCI card or will it not load the driver for the card? You may need a 1394 "B" card instead of the "A" card if your computer has a PCI slot. I run Win 7 but to get PT 11, my Presonus 16.4.2 AI, and computer to talk to each other, that is what I had to get (the 1394B card).

Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!
Its a new PC. How do you know if the firewire is compatible(with a TI chipset)? Also, set Windows to use the onboard sound card and NOT the Focusrite(at least until you get Pro Tools working with it).
