AAE error -6117 was encounter | Audio Device Loop

When I launch Protools 12.6 HD it get an error loop.

The first pop up message states:

"The selected Audio device could not be initialized. Please choose another audio device."It prompts with QUIT or OK. I click OK.


A new error pops up:

"AAE error -6117 was encountered" It prompts More Info or OK. I click OK. It takes me to the first prompt.

It loops until I click quit.

My audio interface is the Focusrite Scarlett 6i/o. Does NOT work.
I have also plugged it out and just used my normal Windows audio. Does NOT work.
I have also downloaded and installed the ASIO4ALL. Does NOT work.
I have also held in "N". It does NOT work.

Hopefully this message does not just die a virtual/digital death. Please someone.... Help.

Try this:
Uninstall ASIO4ALL
Install the latest Windows driver from Focusrite
Open Control Panel>Sound>Properties
Set windows to use the on-board sound card as the "default playback device"
Now, open Pro Tools and cross your fingers(if its still not working, try holding the N key and open PT again). The idea here is to NOT allow windows to use the Focusrite box(because if/when it does, it prevents Pro Tools from using it).
