monitoring 001?!?

I'm using logic platinum 4.1.3 & only use my mackie mixing board to monitor my sounds - I have a sampler going into the 8-ins of the 001 & the 001 going from the 8-outs into my mackie. This way I can record straight into logic with no noise & sample bits of the track at any time to edit with plug-ins. The problem is the 001 won't monitor the inputs or outputs other than 1 & 2. I *HAVE* to be able to monitor like this. The layla even does it, monitors all your ins thru to the outs. Will Digi somehow fix this problem very very soon thru software update if it's posible (or am I doing something wrong?) or should i get the MOTU 1224 which has main outs to monitor everything (or at least the layla)??

in the mix window set the output of the channel (its right below the input selector) to the output you want to go out of into your board (it defaults to 1&2). the manual probably will fill-in anything i forgot. hope it works dude.

thanks Slinky, but you probably misunderstood my problem - *nothing* that is going to the ins of the 001 will monitor thru the 001 outs, no matter what i set the logic outs to, same with monitoring the outs of the 001 for anything other than outs 1 & 2. A friend of mine who works at Sam Ash just heard about this - that this card just doesn't monitor
- totally ridiculous - for the issue with the unbalanced 1/4" outs to add to this monitoring dilemma, I'm probably going to return this & get the motu 1224.
