Default SCSI 64 / SCSI drive options.. help!

Hello all,

just wanted to ask all of the SCSI|64 owners (and the DUC moderators) out there what drives - internal and/or external - they have used with the ATTO ExpressPCI-DC SCSI controller. I recently picked one up for my Mix|Plus rig and would love to hear what has worked, and possibly what hasn't (if any exist).

As always, your experiences and opinions on the subject are greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Richard Conrad

I got one Seagate Cheetah and one Seagate Barracuda hooked to the Atto card. Been running this setup for about five years with no problems. Both drives are external.

Which external drive chassis' are you using with those drives? The only ones I've been able to find are from Glyph, and they're horribly overpriced.

I'd have to get back to you on that. Not in my studio now, and I don't remember. For now I can tell you that it's not Glyph.

Using an Atto EPCI-DC (same as SCSI 64) and I have an IBM 36G internal and an external dual Glyph rack in which I use a variety of 36G, 18G and 9G drives. My top choice is Seagate Cheetah. I'm running HD|3 now, but used this same MDD 1GHz DP with a Mix++++++ system with an SBS chassis.
