UAD-2 latency in Pro Tools Ultimate

This is odd.
With my UAD-2 fw Satellite in Pro Tools 10HD I will get approx 600 samples latency for each UAD plugin. With my Apollos in Pro Tools Ultimate HDX I will get 1024 samples, almost double. Why is that?
I know it is not a problem when playback but anyways... I thought thunderbolt interfaces should have lower latency?

Which Thunderbolt interface do you refer to? Apollo FW is not TB and a TB Satellite box has no affect on latency as it only uses its DSP shark processors.

So which TB interface do you mean here.

I have 4 Apollo X8.

For a standard plugin 1176LN E it shows up as 1024 samples ( and with the additional extra buffering in UAD-2 settings it will add 64 samples on top which I use )
I try to remember if I tried using Apollo X8s within Pro Tools HD10 and it was around 300 samples...?
What is normal for you guys?

Gonna check and report back. We have 2 x X8P and 2 X X16 and a few satellites so i am gonna compare with one of the HDX2 setups here and post back.

What exact plugins have you checked with? 1176 LN and what else?

PS We only use Ultimate 2019.12 and 2020.3 now though. Not HD10

Actually I think that since Pro Tools 11 the playback buffer is fixed at 1024 samples, so what you set in H/W buffersize is only the input buffer.
Logic is using the same ideas (512/1024/2048) as well as LUNA with a fixed playbackbuffer at 512 I believe.
So I guess thats why I get so different numbers compared to PT 10 HD where the playbackbuffer was depending on the H/W buffersize.
