Default Reinstatement question

I have 2 PT licenses:

- Ultimate (expired december 2018)
- HD11 (second hand, transfer done through Avid)

I'm thinking of buying reinstatement for both before the end of the year but I want to make sure it's possible. The reason I'm asking is that the HD11 tab from my account doesn't show any option to purchase reinstatement or move to subscription model whereas the Ultimate tab does.

The HD11 tab states HD11 (no contract)

Any idea ?

Hey

You need this : https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...e-expired-plan

And 2 of them, one for each expired license.

You do save 400 dollars on each as it is normally $999 to reinstate.

Why do you need more confirmations as it says whats on the tin in the link. So Yes reinstatements for PT Ultimate lapsed perpetual licenses as stated in the link I provided.

Used to be $999 but 40% off right now so $599 which is for one year of updates and if there is a big Upgrade of PTU aswell. Adds Support plan for 1 year too.

Reinstatements will disappear after Dec 31st 2019 so after that there will only be renewals for active plans so those who want to stay current would need to renew within that year every year going forward ($399 a year) or leave the perpetual license and go subscription which might make sense for larger multi seat studio houses but for us who have a few HD licenses we paid a lot for will have to cough up the $399/year to keep up and keep our Perpetual licenses.

Thanks, I've purchased one already, but as you can see in the attached screenshot, there's no way to enter a reinstatement code in my PT11HD section... Is there another place to enter it ?

You do that in the ilok license manager atleast thats how we did it.

There must be 1000 videos on the utube showing and telling how to do this so check there as I dont want to give you the wrong info. We have two paid interns who keep all our gear running and software etc so I would have to ask them but Christmas and all they are home having a well deserved vacay

It does seem like a full time job to keep everything updated

Kinda is hehe

Like 15+ years ago or even 10 years ago we used to say

- well this holiday I am going to make music and record my band or group and have fun but these days it’s like :

- what are you doing this holiday now that you have a few days off to have some fun?

- I am gonna update all my software and reinstall this or that AND get ALL my plugins updated as I keep getting error messages on my DAW and somewhere in that 300-500 plugins folder sits a culprit that brings down my entire setup ....

All this just feels soo wrong hence why we only buy hardware these days and at most one or two plugins or VI we feel would be useful as a tool along with what we have in outboards and plugins already.

it is VERY liberating to make music instead of upadating and uninstalling and reinstalling plugins and DAW’s that wont work as expected.

Or wipe drives clean and update to a newer OS even though the system works Great!

Anyways Have a Great End of The Year and See You 2020 !!

Happy Holidays and Be Safe To Everyone
