Popping Noise while recording in PT LE 001
I have an old Pro Tools 5.1 powered by a OS 9.1 Mac.
Lately I've noticed a slight popping noise occuring while I'm recording. I'm sure it isn't my mics. I am also using an external Millennia Pre amp. I tried reloading Pro Tools and it didn't help. thanks for your suggestions

Re: Popping Noise while recording in PT LE 001
You haven't given too much information but here's a few suggestions:
1) Check your Audio Hard Drive which should be a Firewire 7200rpm or a SATA 7200rpm drive. Drag all the data off onto your system drive (or back up somewhere appropriate), format the audio drive and then drag your stuff back on. This will at least eliminate the possibility of a slow transfer rate from the audio drive. 2) Turn off Computer. Open computer. Take out and re-seat PT PCI card and any other cards involved. 3) Check your Phantom Power is working ok on 001. Try going in direct into the 001 (rather than via other hardware) and test results. Try different cables - mic, gtr etc. 4) Start an new session / record to a different drive - and try different settings to see if it makes a difference ie 16bit / 24 bit. 5) follow PT troubleshooting step posted by Digi support on this forum - trash databases, prefs etc..... 6) Pray! 7) Install OSX 10.3.9 & PT 6.4cs9 on a different partition/drive........ Good Luck

Do you have anything coming in on digital(ADAT or SPDIF)? If so, then it could be a clocking issue.

Re: Popping Noise while recording in PT LE 001
I don't have anything coming in on digital.
Also, I don't think it has anything to do with my external Mic Pre Amp or microphones because it's occuring on a DI ( acoustic guitar pick-up) track I'm running directly to the interface. It usually happen's right after I strike a note. Often, I can zoom in and see it on the sound wave and fix it, but not always. I have an old MAC 9.1 and I'm not sure if it has eitherFirewire 7200rpm or a SATA 7200rpm drive. thanks for the suggestions.
