Default Pro Tools Ultimate / HD Reinstatement?

I am seeing a sale price to upgrade vanilla to ultimate right now for a perpetual lic for $999.

Does anyone know if there is a sale on reinstatement from PTHD 11 to Ultimate?

Thanks in advance

Just read the new price from July 1st announcement, nothing about PT HD to Ultimate perpetual reinstatement. Will this remain at $999?

HD and Ultimate are the same product. Whatever they say about Ultimate pricing goes to HD

I'm GUESSING the sale would be crossgrading your perpetual license to cheaper monthly/yearly subscription. The writing's on the wall, Avid wants to get rid of permanent licenses and update plans, it seems they would be happy if all customers were subscribing

Avid should/must continue to offer Reinstatement plans for those that have let their perpetual licenses expire. Otherwise, what is the purpose of having/ever purchased a perpetual license beyond cheaper yearly upgrade plans.

I've said this from the beginning. Avid is KILLING themselves with their ridiculously high reinstatement fees. I've seen this happen to students at schools over and over again:

1. Student purchases a perpetual education license for around $300.
2. Student lets the upgrade plan lapse.
3. Realizes they need the latest version and is sticker shocked to see they are going to be charged another $300 to get the latest version (through the reinstatement fee). Is upset and unhappy.
4. Buys Logic for $199.

Avid repels people away who let their plans lapse. If Avid doesn't want people to let their plans lapse, then continue to make your product great focusing on highly requested features to the point that people are so excited about the new features, they want to be able to get the latest updates the day they are released. Keep the yearly update plan the same whether it has lapsed or not. Consider offering a 10% discount to the faithful people who don't let their upgrade plan expire.

I know, I know... It seems super nice to your user base... But I guarantee in the long run, it will make more money, leave more of your users happy and change the marketing demeanor from punishing everyone who doesn't own up, to rewarding all of those who want to be faithful supporters of Avid.

I'm starting to think the board wants to kill the product, sell off the skeleton of the company and go on vacation.

I think I am missing how the monthly/yearly license is cheaper.

So currently I have a PT Ultimate perpetual license that I annually renew for $399.00.

So are you suggesting/implying that AVID "would like" or will eliminate the perpetual license update eventually and then I'll have to pay $799 a year?

What is the purpose of the PT Ultimate Crossgrade to Subscription for $599, is this the first year pricing for saying going from SW to Ultimate? What is the annual subscription for Ultimate in the second year? $799?

Then what is PT Ultimiate Subscription Annual Commitment Paid upfront for $799. (is this for "new" users? or is this what my cost would be if Avid eliminated the perpetual license annual renewal?)
