Default Do I continue to update El Capitan for compatibility improvements?

I have El Capitan 10.11.2 and I am wondering if continuing to update is going to help compatibility with PT12. Or do I just continue to update PT12 and leave OS X where it is?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

If you're happy with the function and stability and can live with the flakey graphics bug, then don't upgrade, wait and see if 12.5 fixes these issues updating the OS can often create more problems than it fixes.

Always a bad idea to update the OS before being listed as supported by PT

Often a bad Idea to update OS right away to newly listed supported OS version, (unless you like being a beta tester and can tolerate the frustration and or afford the down time)

Sometimes a bad idea to update PT right away unless the new version specifically fixes an issue you are having.

This is a minor aside, but does anyone use the green dot in El Crapitan anymore? Why did they change it? What use is it anymore?

Option click for the old behavior.

New behavior is full screen mode, old is fill to screen.

OS X 10.11.3 is already listed as compatible with PT12 in the Avid site:
http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/c...m-Requirements

That said I am still on Yosemite on my production machine, but El Crap (Pardon El Cap), seems to be working well when I sometimes work in my test partition that is on 10.11.3...

Thanks, but I was aware ( please see my second paragraph ) Not to mention the OP title asked a general question , to which I gave a general 3 part reply.
