Pro Tools 11 slow to respond to mouse and opening plugins
Hi
I've using Protools 11 for a couple of years on my Windows 7 computer. For some strange reason just last week plug ins that were already loaded started taking a few seconds to appear on the screen every time I click on them. Also if I move my mouse from an open plug or another open program (e.g. iTunes) back onto the main Protools page it takes a few seconds before it will respond and work on say a fader etc. Just to check I wasn't imagining this I checked the Protools 10 which works fine. I've deleted preferences and even deleted and then reloaded Protools but to no avail. Any advice much appreciated. Chris |

Quote:
How much ram do you have? Minimum is 4 gig but PT11 really likes to see 8 gig or more. How many other programs do you have running when running PT? Have you optimized your computer? Do you have any wireless stuff going on? |

Two other things to check. Go into BIOS and disable any floppy drive controllers. And make sure you don't have a cd in your cd drive.

Re: Pro Tools 11 slow to respond to mouse and opening plugins
You're very welcome. I discovered this the hard way too. I was actually ready to uninstall/reinstall PT 11.3 til I finally realized I'd left a blank disc in the drive. I still recommend checking BIOS to see if there's a floppy controller running in the background.

Re: Pro Tools 11 slow to respond to mouse and opening plugins
Currently experiencing this issue but didn't have a disk in the cd/dvd drive I still disabled it but nothing.
I am going to see if the floppy controller is possibly running on my system. |
