Hey!!!! After all these years I had NO IDEA you about the "holding CMD" trick. I don't even care about the default plugins now...thanks for educating me on this one.

For anyone else, here is the process I found on another thread -
---------
You use REQ 6 a lot. Say it's the DSP version of REQ. (it doesn't matter actually. this works for both DSP and Native Plugin lists) You want to put it on your kick drum track, say. So you click the insert track of your kick channel, scroll to DSP, to EQ then down to REQ. Now you want to use it on your snare track, BUT you're tired of scrolling through 100 eqs to get down to the REQ in your EQ menu every time you want to use it. Here is the solution:

Click on the insert on the kick channel, scroll down to the REQ, hold command, then select it.

Ok, so right away it seems like nothing happens. The plugin won't pop up on the track. But something magical did happen! Because now when you click on your insert, and scroll over to DSP, you'll find that the REQ plugin is waiting for you there ABOVE where the usual "eq" "dynamics" etc. lists are. Try it! you'll see what I'm talking about.

This works for the Native list as well. And actually the lists are independent. So you can have your 'favorite' DSP plugins, and Native plugins. Also, a side note, the lists are also independent for stereo and mono tracks. So, you kind of have to build your favorites list for both. But once you start using a plugin a lot, you'll eventually just command click it and bam, it's in your list.

I have been doing this for a while now and there seems to be no limit to it. I probably have something like 20 favorites in the DSP menu, about the same for the Native both mono and stereo.

Hope this clears it up! Let me know when you have witnessed the magic for yourself.

Have Fabfilter released the fix for this?

But just 2 as global....when you do the CMD trick you can have 7-10 whatever number of plugs

Which is nice, 1 or 2 of each Type of plugs.....

Buss Comps
Channel comps
Channel strips
Delays
Master EQ's

Your not just limited to 2 of your fav's out of MANY

I found the answer - the most recent version 2.05 has the problem resolved. I updated today from 2.03 and Pro Q2 is no longer inserted as multi-mono on stereo tracks when selected as a default EQ :)
