upgrading to something better
Just got Pro Tools SE, and I'm extremely disappointed in how limited it is. Specifically, lack of plugin support. It certainly didn't look like the "beginner" version of Pro Tools it turned out to be, and the guy who sold it to me made no indication that that's what it was. Is there a way to upgrade to a more featureful version without having to repay for the whole thing all over again?

Re: upgrading to something better
I never got SE up and running properly (white noise problem). Unfortunately Pro Tools MP is not supported any more. Only Pro Tools Express has an upgrade path to the somewhat overpriced Pro Tools 10. I jumped on this one:
http://www.steinberg.net/en/products...artist_65.html It runs like a dream on my laptop PC and since most of my plugs (Mellowmuse, WaveArts, Waves etc.) are VST also, the transition was also light on the wallet in that respect. Adds new sense and it's nice to be back with a company, who acknowledges the good user experience. |
