How do I connect an external mic pre amp to the mbox 2?

Hi, Im thinking of buying a Focusrite Trackmaster pro channel strip today. Im wondering how would i connect the Focusrite to my Mbox2? Im using the Focusrite for the mic pre amp instead of the Mbox2. Also im wondering is the Focusrite Trackmaster Pro Channel Strip any good? Please help!!

The Trackmaster Pro is a decent mic pre for the money. It is similar to other Focusrite mic pres in the silver range. Don't expect it to compare to the ISA range or the Red range however. You would simply connect it to the 1/4" line in ports on you MBox 2.

Platinum range m8, not silver, but I am pretty sure that’s what you meant anyway...

They are the same pre’s that they put in the Control|24, personally I don’t use them for anything other than talkback, not my thing at all... In fact I would use the Pre’s on the 002R over the Platinum ones, I have never used the MBox 2 Pre’s but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they were nicer than the Platinum ones....

Have a listen before you buy, you might find something you like more for the money, maybe a FMR Really Nice Pre or something else cool there are loads of options...

I actually have the Focusrite Voice Master but for some reason
when I hook it up to the Mbox's inputs it makes this high buzzing
noise and it's extra loud so I just use the mbox's pre's.

You can also use the s/pdif out on the preamp in to the s/pdif on the mbox, then you will have a total of 3 inputs.
