Default Behringer X-32 Producer

Time to replace the ProjectMix I/O.... the Behringer X-32 keeps popping up as a good interface. (I used to sigh at anything behringer but.....) Anyone using one of these with PT 11/10? Pros and cons would be really appreciated.

Sorry I guess this should be in 3rd party interfaces...

not as a control surface, but as an interface...yes. works nice all effects are printed to tape......comps' and eq's and the like.

really nice works a charm, no issue rather smoothly.

I was under the impression that the newest firmware made big improvements to the controller side of the X-32. One word of caution; the Producer version has no scribble strips. That(for me anyway) is a deal breaker. The X-32 Compact and the full X32 have that feature and its a must if you don't like scratching your head and wondering which track you have ahold of. Over the Producer, I would sooner by the rack with the X-Touch controller(if they are delivering it yet)

Thanks guys I appreciate the input, I was wondering whether the scribble strips were a deal breaker with me too.... the pre's (Midas designed) seemed to be quite high quality.... May have to go the compact route (or rack with x-touch although as far as I know you can't get one yet)....

Of course the rack unit makes sense... I could still use my projectMix I/O as a control surface until x-touch comes out.... that would work....

No, I don't believe it works that way(but correct me if I am wrong). I know for a fact that the 002 and 003 controllers CANNOT be used as a controller, only. They have to be the interface. Having said that(and having owned both 002 and 003), I have been happily working with no controller since moving to HD/Native. If I need to do a fader ride, I have a Presonus Faderport that works dandy(and it has transport buttons and a quick-punch footswitch jack too)

Actually it does work that way, after some (a lot) of spec. reading and what amounts to a bit of a leap of faith on getting something relatively new, I picked up an Antelope Audio Zen-Studio. However I am still using my PM I/O as a control surface via HUI within the PT11 (and 10 for that matter) Peripherals > MIDI Controllers panel. You like the FaderPort? I was thinking about that for those times I would be better served using a hands on fader. The PM I/O will be in service until I refresh the host (iMac) with a new one running Yosemite. Although I have one image running Yosemite with the PM I/O as a control surface now, it was upgraded from Mavericks, apparently installing the PM I/O driver on Yosemite is difficult if not impossible, besides the new iMacs do not come with a FW port, rather they are Thunderbolt, so that will mark the end of the old PM I/O. (running since 2007, I would say I have gotten my money's worth out of it, Black Lion Mod and a power supply is the only money I've put into it)... anyway thanks for your input.

That's great news The 002 and 003 don't offer a HUI mode The faderport works great for certain functions(like having a real fader and transport buttons). I also use the footswitch jack for quick-punch. The "not so good"; the knob for PAN doesn't work worth a hoot and you have to make SURE which track is selected before you start riding the fader
