Default Can I buy the $300 PT10 to PT11 Upgrade and install it on a clean system?

Hi,
Can I buy the $300 PT10 to PT11 upgrade and install it on a clean system, if I already have a valid PT10 license etc?

Yes You Can

You will surrender the PT10 version you have but will recieve a PT10/11 bundle when you upgrade. You don't need to have anything installed previously and a clean hardrive is the preferred.

Don't forget to download the Air instrument bundle with the VI's as it is a separate installer for PT10 and PT11

Best Regards

Hmph. I have a MacBook Pro running Lion and PT10. I just got a MacMini off eBay store with what was advertised as Mountain Lion OS but it is actually Mavericks. If I buy the $300 upgrade will it effect my PT10 on the MacBook in any way, or screw me up if I need to reinstall down the road?

That will not affect the 10.8.5 Mac but as you know, PT10 is not supported on Mavericks and that you have to uninstall PT10 manually if you install on Mavs.

As it is a bundle when you upgrade you can only use one computer at a time with the ilok in the computer so you can have PT10 on your MBP and PT11 on the Mac Mini

Sounds good. I think I will get all my ducks in a row and give this a shot. Thank you.

A clean install on a clean HD (once verified that everything is working correctly) is the best time to back up your HD. This is often overlooked and if/when problems occur, one is left scratching their head wondering why they didn't do a backup in the first place.

I have relied heavily over the years on restoring backup system images which saved a lot of time and angst.
