Default ProTools 11.5 (beta) @ IBC2014

Today at the Avid presentation where we could see PT cloud collaboration and track freeze feature among other things Avid's presenters were running PT11.5. Hope they will release it soon.

Very cool presentation indeed.

Thanks for the info. Track freeze in PT 11.5? Wow, it's a nice feature. And the other features are?... ETA?

I think they'll release PT12 at AES in a few weeks.

They're using the same strategy as a few years ago, where they kept making announcements ahead of time (new HD interfaces, then new Mboxes, then HD Native), then finally dropping the big bomb of PT9 at AES.

Now, so far we have the Protools Quartet/Duet, the S3L-X, previews of new plugins (sub harmonic enhancer and multiband compressor), and now more features being shown, and we haven't even gotten to AES yet.

So, it's coming! Don't let them trick you with the "technical preview/11.5" stuff!

Thanks for the info, I switched to PT with PT11.
I were in a SL3 demo in July, nice desk, very light, great integration with PT... And I guess I'll be Eucon compatible really soon...
Another function that I miss from Cubase it's cut at zero crossing the audio option... I cross my fingers.

I agree, and I doubt any coming 11.x updates will pack new features as big as "freeze" and such - unless it is a paid upgrade as 7.4 was with elastic audio. 11.5 could actually just be a 12 in disguise.

Exiting times however! Hope 12 will be as stable as 11 was when released. (Oh, wait..?) ;-)

If avid makes track freeze apart of an 11 release this will make me very happy. It will be paid, but I'm hoping for a return to the days of 7.5 type paid updates.

I'm surprised there is not more discussion on the upcoming upgrade. Did anyone else attend the demo that ran 11.5 or can anyone elaborate more on new features that were seen? Thanks.

They were running 11.5 in the demo videos from NAB with the track freeze and Avid Anywhere features also.

We're only at 11.2 so far, I think we have some time before some of those big features drop.

Just because we're at 11.2.1, compared to a future 11.5, doesn't mean there's long to wait; larger numerical upgrades just mean more new features justifying a larger jump in the number. Has not much to do with time (unless, of course, something like going all the way to PT 13).
