Default Film for Tv

Hey,
I'm doing a PAL mix for a HD feature that will only be shown on tv. (The theatrical mix is being done elsewhere) I'm wondering should I mix as I would normally mix to the specs of the broadcaster (which are very basic; just keep it below 6 PPM) or use the full dynamic range of a feature mix and rely on their broadcast limiters to contain it, as it would for any theatrical mixes shown on it?? What do you guys normally do in this situation?? Any advice wuould be greatly appreciated. My room is calibrated correctly to 79SPL.
Thanks
Garret

Hello. I would say that if you are 100% absolutely your mix will only be used for TV and will at no point whatsoever make it to any film festival, etc. then I would definitely mix it for TV. Get the specs from the broadcast network(s) and do a TV mix. Good luck.
