Default NEWBIE - MIDI SETUP PROBLEMS>>>>>

This may seem a stupid question to some of you...
I have a 001 running on XP.
I have a Evolution MK-149 Midi Controller Keyboard and a Roland D110 sound module.

How do i setup these up with Pro Tools?
I have tried my best but with no result. I can't find a way to enable the D110 in Pro Tools (thats if i have to?)

Any help appreciated!
Thanks.

Beano -

There are no stupid questions here - we all were newbies once and we know what it's like.

There are several ways you can do this - here's one that should work:

Midi out from the Evolution to Midi In on the 001. Midi out from 001 to Midi In on the D110.

Audio outs on D110 to Audio inputs 3 and 4 (for stereo) or just 3 (for mono) on the 001.

Create a stereo Aux track in Pro tools and set the input to audio inputs 3 and 4 (or a mono aux track for mono). Make sure you bring up the fader on the Aux track - it defaults to "off".
Create a Midi track in Pro tools and set the output to whatever channel you want to control on the D110. Enable record on the Midi track.

You should be able to play the Evo and hear the D110. If you don't, come back and we'll troubleshoot.
