Most soundcards (there's probably one in your PC) have a MIDI port. Use that to control the Alesis via MIDI, I've done this quite a bit with my sr-16.

If your soundcard doesn't have a MIDI port you can pick up a Midiman Uno for cheap, that's what I used until I upgraded to an 002R. Worked great for me.

Good luck.

yeah, just pick up a midisport uno to run into a usb port on your computer if you don't have midi ports already. You can also run a mono TRS into a channel on your MBox if you want to record it directly to an audio track, but if you want to edit at a later date, I would reccomend doing midi, and then busing to an audio track later.

i am wanting to do a stereo recording of the alesis drum machine which means both inputs of the mbox will be used, so i am needing a midi setup to start the alesis with the recording tracks so that they line up perfectly with the click track. will the uno give me this setup thanks.
