Lavalier mike for ADR

Would an
Audio-Technica PRO 70 Cardioid Condenser Lavaliere

work for ADR when the production audio is either the Sanken COS-11 or the Sony equivalent?

I only do about 5 to 8 -10 line ADR sessions a year, my old Sony Lav is "long in the tooth" but I don't want to spend $500 on a mike replacement.

Have you considered renting? You could then just rent the particular model used on the production...

Unfortunately, I'm in Houston with no rental unless I ship it in and since the ADR sessions are usually booked the same day, that makes it a little tough.

But a COS-11 is less than 300 bucks! Are you saving THAT much money?

Good point, but the AT is $119....call me cheap or frugle :)

Yeah, but no pro recordists use those. Trew Audio did a survey and among their customers the COS11 was the most popular lav, followed (I think) by the Countryman B6. But in truth, the placement of the mic relative to the actor's mouth and the intervening wardobe have at least as much to do with the sound as the mic model, re matching.
