Default Finally can upgrade to intel!

It's been a few years since I've been on this forum. At one point my g5 could just not handle PT8, so I had to give up. (Plus an old motorcycle was taking up my time).

Yesterday I bought a used 1st gen macpro. A dual 2.66, 4 core. I think I should have to upgrade to PT8.0.5, to work with OSX 10.6.8. Hopefully it would be much smoother sailing after that.

Does anyone have any tidbits of info that I should consider through the upgrade process? Thanks.

Greg

That's not in the budget. Plus I don't want a version of PT that the mac & OS can't keep up with again.

I didn't think PT11 worked on a first-gen Mac Pro

it's a work v. recommended thing
I'm not recommending 11 but you would get 10 in the upgrade that will run any 3rd party RTAS plugs you may have (some may need updates but they should be free, 11 will require that everything be aax 64 bit, most updates free to cheap but some are not)

8.0.5 would be better, but 8 was just not a good version.

PT8.0.5 is running nicely. All plugins seem to be happening except for strike. The strike plugin is in the plugins folder. But it doesn't load when PT boots. I've tried to run the app for setting content location, but it won't launch on the intel mac. Hmmm, what to try next?

I think it's fine. Working now. I just forgot some old stuff I once knew. I'm really going to have to relearn it all again after 3-4 years of non-use. Thanks all.
