Default New Dock owner

So i went ahead and bought the Dock...I'm still on the fence about it...
I guess I'll live with it a while before making any drastic decisions...
I still find myself using the keyboard...I'm somewhat of a keyboard ninja after all these years...it's hard to break old habits

I was/am the same way. There are still times I instinctively reach for the keyboard and mouse. Softkeys help a lot with automating multiple keystrokes though for sure. For me it was just taking the time to learn where my most used functions are.

In the beginning I wanted to completely wipe out all of the softkey pages and build my own but it would just take forever and I'd be wasting time. The more I took the time to understand why and how the softkeys are layed out it started to make some sense to me. Once you learn where the softkeys are you will get much faster using them. And, of course there are user pages for more direct access to your most commonly used softkeys or for building your own macros.

Another thing I learned quickly was to use Mov SEL instead of jog. This keeps you on the grid all the time and will not disengage when you hit transport buttons.

I find using the dock during tracking (creating new playlists, setting punch in and punch out points and navigating a project ) helps me considerably.

lastly, if you use other programs like Adobe Premiere it will help you there too...

Thanks for the tips, but I'm un clear on what you mean by the Mov SEL instead of Jog...
I also use Cubase and this will help a lot with that program as well...
Cheers

Instead of using the Jog function on the dock i used the Move/SEL function. It lets me move the playhead through the timeline and stay on the grid. It will also not disengage when I hit play/stop
