Re: swap preset settings here
Hey
I read the faq at http://www.digitalaudiorock.com and the presets will work on both MAC and PC. all you have to do is change the file extension to '.tfx'. He tells you how here http://www.digitalaudiorock.com/cgi-bin/coop/faq.cgi So any can upload their great presets on that site no matter what box you use. I hope this helps everyone. Re: swap preset settings here
I didn't notice this thread until today. Thanks for posting the link to my site Darren.
Milk is correct. Preset files are compatible across Windows and Mac, and are also compatible between TDM/AS/RTAS versions of a specific plugin. Generally you just have to ensure that the preset file names end with '.tfx' and that you put them in the correct preset folder. For Waves presets saved using the Waves load/save stuff (usually with a .pst file extension) they should work in Waves plugins with that extension. In recent years I started using the standard librarian with my Waves plugins (rather than their load/save functions). It works fine, and actually saves both the 'A' and 'B' settings. The 'compare' function doesn't work with them, so you have to rely on the A->B thing for that. I apologize for my FAQ page being overly complicated. I wrote the site before I was aware that preset files could be shared with the .tfx name, so there are a lot of instructions for using Mac archive formats like BinHex etc. I really need to trim a lot of stuff out of there some day. Make sure when you use my search to select all platforms and all types by either control clicking them in the list, or dragging over them so they're all highlighted (that's the default selection). If you click on the links at the bottom of the digitalaudiorock.com home page, they search all platforms and types. Had I been aware from the beginning that they are compatible, I wouldn't have even put those fields in at all. Thanks again for the link! I'd love to see the site get more use. I actually just moved it to a much better server. Tom |

Re: swap preset settings here
Oh...this thread reminded me that I neglected to add Amplitube to the list of plugins. I just added it now. It's listed as 'IK Multimedia AmpliTube'.

Re: swap preset settings here
You're quite welcome Remon, and thanks for the kind words. I've lost a few more since then, but at least they were from old age. Still never gets any easier. Thanks.
