Default Carbon - Multi Channels - Trim

Hello,
I have a few questions about Pro Tools Carbon.
I would like to use it to replace an HD omni, there are some fonctions that I can't find :

>Can we do an output trim with the Carbon ?
In the HD omni, there is "Output level" where you choose +4dBu or -10dBv, I can't find that in the Carbon with Pro Tools in the Hardware selection.
But is there a more specific trim we can use to calibrate each channel output ?
If not, do you use or recommend something else to do it ?

>Is there a better monitor visuel we can use ?
The Output Level Strip (above the Output Encoder — knob) isn't precise. In the HD omni we can clearly see the output level, is there something similar or something else ? And if there is not, what is the value of each square in the step ?

>I saw that we can do 7.1.2 and 5.1.4 with Protools 2023.6 (and latest versions), do you use Dolby Renderer to do it ?
I tried but it didn't work.

I already did some search, all the test I tried with AudioMidi Setup and Avid Carbon Central.
Thank you,

Here is my configuration if need :
Mac Studio (2022) M1, macOS Monterey 12.6.3
Pro Tools Ultimate 2023.6.0
Avid Carbon Central 23.9.0.0

Page 22 of the Carbon manual -- Hardware Setup (Line I/O tab, right of the Main Tab)
You can set +4 or -10 for each individual channel and the Mon channels
And you can also set true pre amp bypass for each channel separately

I recently switched from HD Omni to Carbon. It was the best move I made and setup is a breeze.

The only things I wish it had was another ADAT for 24 and an AES jack.

Thank you for your respond K Roche and noah330,

I made a mistake in my preview message, I can find the Output level, I can't the Output Trim.

If someone could help me with previews questions it would be nice,

Thank you all,

Juliette

No output Trim on Carbon. Not all Avid interfaces have output trim.

From the 2023.12 reference manual, page 567, under the Calibration Mode (HDX and HD Native Systems Only)..........

"There are no input or output trims on the following audio interfaces: HD OMNI, HD MADI. Some Pro Tools audio interfaces that do not have output trims (such as the HD OMNI) offer software-con- trollable input levels, adjustable from Setup > Hardware (see the guide for your particular audio interface)".

There is no mention of output trim in the Carbon documentation, and I've never seen it in the Pro Tools hardware setup for Carbon, or in Carbon Central config.

Hi everyone,

I am pretty sure that HD omni has output trim as the manual says :

https://cdn-www.avid.com/-/media/avi..._v81_67825.pdf

How is it possible to change the level of the speakers on Carbon ? Is there no way to calibrate your speakers on a Carbon ?
In MTRX Studio you have DADman software so it is pretty easy, but there is no way to do that on Carbon ?

That seems like a regression from HD omni...

Also no output level shown on the interface seems like a bummer ...
I don't have Carbon, only MTRX Studio and that is not encouraging !

Yes, that's what it says - the HD OMNI has output trim but it's software controlled (not physical level controls on the box).

It isn't possible except by using normal PT output levels. There are no speaker calibration controls. There are no Carbon specific output level adjustments.

Well, the Carbon is "Prosumer". The MTRX Studio is about twice the price. I have no idea how much an HD OMNI cost when it was new.
Either way, the Carbon does not have this feature. There is no DADman equivalent for Carbon.

The output level is shown by the number of LEDs lit up over the volume control. It's very crude and not much use, I agree.

Someone from Avid may be able to explain further.......
