Protools 10.3 Crashing with import session data on Mountain Lion
I see a lot in regards to crashing but nothing in terms of my issue. I upgraded to Mountain Lion unsuspecting there was still huge issues with it even though the site stated it was supported. I was holding out until it was stable and obviouslly not, I even did a fresh install from the recovery system and the crash is still there.
I am trying to backup and archive my mix sessions, I first save a copy in which is fine and audio files copy across ok. I then from here cleanup the tracks and remove orphaned files from the list. From there I create a new session to import the data to consolidate, but this is where I hit an issue, after a short time importing the files it will constantly crash and there is zero information about the problem. I'm on a 2011 macbook pro with an SSD installed. Any ideas ? This is a freshly installed system so there is nothing to clean, it was the last drastic measure I tried. I think it's totally unstable and should be updated immediately. |

Re: Protools 10.3 Crashing with import session data on Mountain Lion
Confirming one session was able to be consolidated without crashing, it was the foley session I was archiving, the atmos and fx sessions are bigger and crash. It's something I can work around for now by rar archiving the cleaned up sessions made by save copy in but it's still huge and this bug is really annoying and need to get it working

Re: Protools 10.3 Crashing with import session data on Mountain Lion
How can I report a bug, Avid are very hard to get in contact with for reporting bugs without paying them first which is evil.

Quote:
I was having similar issues and I finally actually read the crash report and found the culprit was a plugin. My issues also included not being able to open the session. Sometimes would get the session loaded and see the mixer and edit windows pop up for a split second and then crash. Did a Shift+OPEN and that loaded without the plugins active and I was able to fix the problem I found.

Re: Protools 10.3 Crashing with import session data on Mountain Lion
Hi confirming this is still a problem ! This is happening on 10.1 HD system aswell as 10.3.1. While its relinking files when consolidating it will crash constantly, this is a serious issue. How do I report it ?

<snip>
We need the data from this thread within the crash log to determine anything useful.
